Bulk email marketing

Last night, a mass e-mail was sent to all of my contacts while I was asleep. I woke up to mailer demon telling me it had failed to send to certain people. It had a rapidshare link that was clearly a virus. It sent it to absolutely everyone, people I haven’t spoken with in literally years, and those I’ve just met. I deleted my original account and made a new one and changed my password on the new one just because I’m paranoid. I used MacScan and iAntivirus (all that was found were two tracking cookies, both were successfully deleted, but this still continues), but the details in my new gmail account still say that someone from an IP address completely different from mine is accessing my account from GA with IMAP. This same IP address was on the history of the account I deleted.

Is there anything I can do aside from using a scanner and changing my password?

If it helps any, the address is 208.54.94.15 even after getting rid of the tracking cookies, it still shows up in my gmail’s history and isn’t coming up as suspicious activity. I’m so confused.

Once founded some of my contacts addresses appearing in a list of bulk mail. This really is weird, cause if they are part of my Address book, shouldn´t be marked as bulk, also, their mails never enter this account but it does in another one…

When you register with sites such as Facebook you can optionally supply them with your username and password for Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo Mail and they will email everyone in your contacts list.

How do they do this and does anyone know of any articles that explain techniques etc.

I only wish to be able to send routine email to a group of contacts using Yahoo Mail only. I am not interested in creating a Yahoo or other group outside of Yahoo Mail. Any insight is appreciated.

Is there a limit to the # of contacts you can have in an email distribution list? I am having problems sending an email with an attachment to a distribution list. I get script errors.

In other words is it possible to save to contacts a list of addresses that I have copied from the “to” section of an email I’ve received. I don’t know all the names of the addresses so I can’t add them all to my contacts one by one. And as there are about 80 people in the list I don’t have that kind of time.

i can’t send or receive emails. its a yahoo one. i try sending the email and it either goes to the bulk/spam folder or they just wont get it. anybody know why? this happens even if they have me in the contacts list. what should i do?

this is really annoying specially when i send a really important email and people dont get it. is there a way i can contact yahoo? thanks

My list of contacts are quite upset about this and I don’t blame them. Do I need to change my email address. or is there something I can do to prevent this. I have Norton Anti Virus protection but still this happened….help!

When sending bulk mail to multiple contacts, I dont’ want all the people receiving the emails to be able to see all of my other contacts names in the sent to field (I dont care if they see email addresses, but I don’t want them to see the peoples names). How do I keep those names private?

How do I create a group email list from my address book? In other words, I’m traveling for 6 months, and i want to keep a number of people from my contacts on a group email list who are interested in keeping up with my travel log. So how do I create a list or a group that I can just quickly click on to put them all in a ‘to:’ field for a composed email? And is there a limit to how many people can receive an email from me? Are you limited to 50 people or anything like that? Please help. Thanks…
