Does It Bother Catholics?
That Christians believe Catholicism is a cult?
I was at the market trying to buy some bulk products when this old Christian woman started talking to me, trying to convert me to Christianity, after I told her I am an atheist (she asked). I told her I was raised Catholic and she winced and said that Catholicism is a cult. This isn’t the 1st time I had heard this from a Christian.
As an atheist, it seems more than a bit ironic and quite funny. But I would like to hear from the Catholics. How do you feel about it?
In fact she is an evangelical Christian. It does seem to me that that sect of Christianity is growing by leaps and bounds, no longer a minority.
Also, reading your answers reminded me that Catholics are pretty rational people that don’t answer everything with a quote from the bible. Thanks!
Would it be wrong to send an email blast to all my friends?
I am agnostic and a lot of my friends and family members fill up my inbox with religious forwarded messages. I know this sounds petty but it really annoys me. It easy to say “just delete them” but they all forward them to each other too so sometimes there are several of the same emails. So here I sit sorting through 20-40 religious forwards a day. It clutters my inbox and it flat out gets on my nerves. So would it be wrong of me to write a very polite email explaining that I am agnostic and to please refrain from forwarded me religious materials? I don’t send them agnostic materials trying to convert them into my way of thinking and I don’t like having religion force fed to me in any way. So what do you think?
I would just block them but they are people like my mother, cousin, step grandmother etc. LOL wouldn’t feel right blocking all of their emails. Not all of them are religious just a lot of them.
