Where can I get free historical stock market data in bulk?
Ideally, I’d like several years worth of data for all stocks in NYSE and NASDAQ, with hourly (or better) resolution, to be downloaded in bulk. Realistically, what’s the best I can get for a large dataset that doesn’t require downloading thousands of individual files? Are there any datasets that give better resolution than open/close? It also needs to be freely available; I unfortunately can’t afford paid database access.
What does everyone think about the shipping sector? Do you think there is money to be made in shipping stocks?
i’m talking about such dry bulk companies as DRYS, dryships, DSX, diana shipping, ESEA, euroseas. Thanks everyone for your opions. im new to the stock market but have heard in the past that shipping is one of the first things to take off when the world is comming out of a recession, also with the dollar so weak there is a lot of exporting form the U.S.

i bought shares of a penny stock,in diamond exploration in canada , is there chance of success good?
this company trades on the canadian markets under the symbol ddn and now trades at 35 cents, they will report bulk sample results this month for larger stones. the management is first rate and they seem to be in a good position to find the next diamond mine in canada, many good prospects based on past results. they have better results than the current operating diamond mines in canada.
What effect will retiring Boomers have on the stock market?
It is possible the boomers will divest at the same time and cause the market to recede. It is also possible they will leave their money there, in different assets, and nothing will happen.
In any event, the younger boomers would be at the greatest risk. Or would they? Do the young boomers constitute the bulk of the Boomers? Or is it the older ones?
What do you think?
National health care for seniors is a platform for the next pres. election, and I plan to vote for someone with a good plan. We need national health care so seniors on SS can have medical coverage.
