Yahoo uses two different names for the same thing. Classic Mail calls it BULK and New Mail calls it SPAM.I have gone back and forth between the two versions to answer questions and the folders are exactly the same.
As far as Yahoo is concerned the only spam is mail that goes to multiple people (bulk). That is why marking mail as spam may have no effect if you are the only addressee.

There has been a huge increase in spam since the all new mail. I have started to use a free programme Mail Washer rated 5 out of 5 by consumeractive magazine. It’s not perfect but it certainly helps. Download from
