We understand that you want to change your Yahoo! Mail address.
Yahoo! Customer Care is committed to answering your questions as quickly
and accurately as possible. Due to the recent changes in Yahoo!
services, we have experienced a high volume of emails. Please know that
your email is important to us and we apologize for the delay in
responding to your message.
Although it is not currently possible to change your Yahoo! ID and/or
your Yahoo! Mail address, there are however 2 alternative solutions:
1. Extra email Address
With the extra address, you don’t have to delete your account. Keep it
with an address you’re happy with.
Extra Email addresses can be useful if (a) you have different categories
of contacts like Personal and Business and you’d like to separate the
addresses you use with each. (b) You already realise you need two
addresses, and you want to avoid the hassle of logging in to and out of
multiple mail accounts throughout the day or (c) you just don’t like
your old address anymore.
Please follow these steps to set up an extra email address:
1. Click Options in the upper-right corner of your Mail page.
2. Under Management, click Mail Addresses.
3. In the Extra Email Address section, click Get Started.
4. Either type whatever new address you’d like to try (we’ll tell you if
it’s already taken), or use one of our suggestions on the right.
5. Click Choose.
Now your extra address appears in the list of Yahoo! Mail accounts shown
on this page. To help prevent spamming, we only allow you to change your
extra address twice in one year.
Once the extra email address is created it can be used as the default
address in the “From:” field. That way you don’t have to choose it, it’s
just there, every time.

You can add up to 6 aliases as part of the same account if it is only
the name (Yahoo! ID part) you wish to change. An alias consists of a
name and some information that you show in a profile to other members.
When you enter Yahoo!, you can choose any of your aliases. Please note
that it is unfortunately not possible to send and receive emails
addresses to aliases.
Easiest way is simply to ignore this old email. After some time Yahoo will block it when they observe that you are not accessing it. Export your address book from Yahoo. Create a new account.Import your old address book. Send your new email to your close friends and only those whom you want them to contact you. It will take some time from spammers to know your new email address
First, make very sure that is what you want to do, if you delete the account you can never get it back, or use that ID name, either.
Any other yahoo programs associated with your mail account will also be deleted.
