  1. im 13 wat state u llive in ?

  2. You are never too young to start your own business!! Unfortunately, I do not know much about what you are going into. My advice is to read as much as possible about that that type of business. Dont be afraid to ask people in that business what they do and how they do things… you will be surpirised how helpful some people will be. I founded a couple of businesses, so if you need some occasional advice shoot me an email.

  3. I think if you open a store or something, you will need license…but if no physical store, why bother???…anyway, see the policy in your area, that’s the best…i don’t know what market forums are…is it like bazaar or street market or you sell to your neighbourhood, or???…but based on what i see around…you don’t need license if it’s like selling door to door…or selling to your mother’s friends or to your friends…

Products to resell? that depends on what area you live now (asia, america, europe?…)
…Why don’t you see yellow page? or design yourself or hire some friends or your sisters to make jewelry…i don’t know what kind of jewelry that you sell but if it’s fun design, i think you can make it…
May be you can check out your country traditional craft area…that’s why you have to be specific about your current area so people in answer can help you…

Gosh, i wish i have courage to run small business like you…my parents always brought negative atmosphere about whatever i did (like you said…discouragement)…small business? no, i don’t think it’s small except if you see it from capital point of view…you have courage to start it…i say, huge business…
I wish you the best luck…

  4. Two issues – as for licences, you will need a DBA – which you get at your county courthouse or clerk’s office and you will need a sales tax licence. You can learn about any other licences you will need by contacting your local SCORE volunteers. they offer free counseling on how to start a business and they work with the SBA so you dont have to worry that they are a scam.

The lady who says you dont need them if you dont have a store has never been in a fleamarket or craft show when an inspector from the state treasurers office goes around checking if you have a permit. I have, and those people who did’nt have the proper permits were in big trouble.

As for buying items to resell. The nature of buying wholesale is that you get a cheaper price because you buy more items, so buying in bulk is generally the way you get good prices. However, it depends on what kind of jewelery you sell. You might get some people to consign their own jewlery withyou and you sell it and split the money or you can do “estate” jewelery which means you go to garage sales and buy used jewelery and re-sell it (there is alot of money in that if you know whick kinds of old items – like bakelite – are popular). Goodluck!
