Why are Salted Cashews generally cheaper then Unsalted?

When buying in the market in bulk, I notice salted is generally cheaper than unsalted cashews in terms of price per weight.

Does it indicate that that salted cashews are lower in quality?

  1. The law of supply and demand probably answers this, unsalted are healthier but fewer people want them.
They sell more salted so they can make more money with the volume sale……

  2. I bet you’re right about them being lower in quality. When it’s unsalted you’re going to get the full flavor. I’ve noticed also, when I buy the natural, unsalted, non-roasted almonds, they’re much more expensive as well but taste really good. It has to be about the quality.

  3. Unsalted cashews have to be fresh. Salt disguises the taste of stale cashews. Figure…..

  4. supply and demand

  5. usually the unhealthy stuff is cheaper…….if u want healthy food u have to pay more
