If MacOS were as widely used as Windows, would they have the bulk of security problems?

Regarding secuity, is Windows a victim of its marketing success or is there another OS out there that would have done a better job keeping the world secure if everyone was trying to hack it too?

  1. Yes, Windows isn’t as bad as it seems. It’s just that the most popular thing gets attacked the most.

  2. No, there have been plenty of incentives to hack it, such as the on-going $10,000 contest. It’s simply a much better product than Windows. In fact, studies have shown that a Mac and a PC on broadband connections have roughly the same number of break-in attempts.

  3. Yes it would. The more commercial a product is, the more vunerable it is. ex: Xbox, PS2.
